Hello new friends, and greetings from California!

I've just moved over from another site because of how much I love Delcampe. I love the extensive selection of worldwide material, the decade-split categories to help one find something listed iwth another catalogue's number, the color scheme, the Advanced Search, the low fees, bulk feedback, and numerous other features.

I few suggestions that I, humbly, believe would be improvements.

1. Smart range searches: If the seller lists as "Michel 100-105", I would like a way to match that against my search.for "103". Likewise, if I searched for "Michel 100-104", it would find 103.

2. Strong wants list support. It will be a little bit more difficult here, because of the multitude of catalogues being used, but a keyword search for, say, "penguin" (or "penguin|pinguino|manchot") would be checked every day and lists of and links to all the new penguin stamps in the last 24 hours emailed to me.

3. CSV upload support. I do not use Windows, so I cannot use your custom upload program (even under WINE it doesn't work, because it needs .NET). Listing by hand is so painful that I might just give up and buy a Windows box just for that program. VERY IMPORTANT REQUEST!

4. Saving searches within a tree category and getting email updates when new examples become available. For instance, I could save "47|48" in "German Empire" and get an email each time a new copy is listed (is this in place already??)

5. Parentheses in Advanced Searches. I can fiddle around with DeMorgan rules to get a query that doesn't need them, but parentheses would make it so much more useful. to me

6. Could you open a US bank account and do wire transfers to Moneybookers from there? Transferring money to an overseas account, because we don't have IBAN numbers, in the States, would cost me $35 - $60 per transfer, regardless of the amount, but it is free to another US bank. If you could aggregate our payments (over, say, 24 - 72 hours) and make one big transfer overseas, it would eliminate the (still understandable and quite reasonable) 1.9% fee for U.S. users and use of a credit card to use Moneybookers?

That's all for now. Thanks again for my new favorite auction site!

Cheers,

clanmackay

Sorry, again: it would be nice to be able to put every stamp in two categories (one national and one thematic/topical).

Thanks!

How about, when a seller is preparing an invoice, to get a nag screen like this:

"Buyer Foo is bidding on X of your items right now. In Y of these, he or she is the high bidder. // You have Z outstanding (buy-at-a-lower-price) offers from Foo right now."

This would eliminate sellers having to manually check on whether the bidding is done with the buyer.

I love the bulk feedback feature. I would like a similar feature for bids: the results of a search could be listed with a box next to each of them, and bids could be placed in each box corresponding to an item the buyer wants.

For example, when I bid on an item from a seller, I will frequently also make a bid on every complete booklet in stock that is valued at 1 EUR or less. This would allow me to do so more quickly. More speed = more bids = more money for Delcampe.

Interesting points Clan....And welcome to the more friendly site !

I would like to see a "BUY IT NOW" tab which only shows stuff you can buy now

I saw an item I was really interested in but I had to wait 27 days for the auction to end !.....those 28 days auctions are really too long

I like the idea of a little pop up coming in when you go to send an invoice off saying something like "BUYER HAS MORE BIDS ON YOUR ITEMS".....I usually have to open up 2 screens to see if they have any more bids before I send the invoice

bonjour karen et clan,
the seller does have the option to choose the 'buy now' option. and yes, it would be wonderful to see the option listed among the choices on the search program. i am sure sebastien is looking at this suggestion with advice from his staff. :znaika: perhaps we shall see it soon.

un bonne semaine au vous.

What I would most like, in regard to Cajunsr1's suggestion, would be a way to have the item listed at auction a certain number of times (say, 1-3), and then have the auction automatically convert to "Buy It Now" after that.

Sometimes sellers don't know what they have, so it makes sense to put it out as an auction (rather than guessing a value!) so bidders can fight over it (doesn't happen so much on D* yet, but it will happen.) But if an item has already been listed three times (for instance) it might be safe to assume that people would be more inclined to buy it at your opening price if they can have a guarantee or receiving it quickly.

bonsoir clan,

you may find many that would argue that point with you, including me. if i wanted the 'buy now' option, i would certainly put it on my auction to begin with, not to have it forced upon me later. i have been a stamp collector for over 45 years and know my hobby. and i am here, not as a business, but as a hobby to sell my world collection. it is only to help supplement my france and colonies collection for other things i wish to purchase. like an ol' cajun uncle of mine told me long ago, 'don't stir the mud in the swamp too much, esp. when they is gators around you.' take care and enjoy the site. and good luck with your buying and selling.

To be sure, I wasn't asking for it to be automatic or unavoidable, just to be an option when listing (a "hybrid" option or similar.)

Sorry for the misunderstanding.
